A free text line for Toowoomba health professionals with a dental question about a patient. Questions are answered by Dr Immanuel Puvanendiran, a general dentist at Southside Dental Toowoomba.

GPs and registrars, practice and community nurses, nurse practitioners, pharmacists, and hospital, aged-care and allied health staff in Toowoomba and the Darling Downs.
What to send
- Your name, role and where you work
- The patient's age, relevant medical history and medications — please no name, date of birth or Medicare number
- Your question, and a photo if it helps (cropped to the mouth)
Questions we can help with
- Is this swelling, ulcer or pain likely to be dental?
- Does this patient need to see a dentist today, or can it wait?
- A dental check before bisphosphonates, head and neck radiotherapy or heart surgery
- Children's teeth, including Child Dental Benefits Schedule eligibility
When to use something else
Facial swelling that affects breathing, swallowing or the eye, or spreading swelling with a fever, needs the emergency department or 000.

Cost
Free. No referral needed, and there's no expectation that you refer patients to us.
When we reply
We reply as soon as we can, usually during practice hours: Monday 8am–5pm, Tuesday to Thursday 7am–7pm, Friday 7am–5pm.
